8 events - 8 National Qualifying Times for Alex

Five Oakengates swimmers were in Coventry over the two weekends of the Midland District Age Group Championships. Alex Hooper lead the way with 8 National Qualifying Times and 6 PB's from her 8 event, finishing no lower than 5th place - 100 Fly 4th (PB), 100 BK 1st, 200 BK 4th (PB), 100 FC 4th, 200 FC 4th, 400 FC 5th (PB), 800 FC 4th (PB) & 100 IM 5th (PB in both heat and final.) Claire Bearman and Nicola Martin were making their first appearance at this level and both turned in some fine swims to record PB's in all events entered. Claire swam the 2 backstroke events - 100 BK 19th (PB) & 200 BK 19th (PB) and also the 200 IM 36th (PB). Nicola also swam the two backstroke events - 100 BK 40th (PB) & 200 BK 33rd (BP). Daniel Evans was also competing in the championships for the first time and was the busiest swimmer over the two weekends with a grand total of 11 events - 100 Fly 3rd, 200 Fly 6th, 100 BK 34th, 200 BK 23rd, 100 BR 9th, 200 BR 11th 100 FC 11th, 200 FC 11th, 400 FC 12th, 200 IM 4th & 400 IM 6th. Sam Adamson competed in 8 events and recorded 1 PB - 200 BK 41st, 100 BR 20th, 200 BR 30th, 100 FC 17th (PB), 200 FC 28th, 400 FC 28th, 200 IM 30th & 400 IM 12th. Well done to all who took part.
