City of Brimingham Open Meet

Birmingham - 12th Arp 04

Three Oakengates swimmers were in Birmingham on Monday to compete in this open meet and they turned in some fine performances, with all five swims by our swimmers under the Midland District Qualifying Time for the events in question. Nicola Martin gained her first MDQT with an excellent 3:10.45 in the 200 backstroke, knocking just under four and a half seconds off the PB she set only a month ago at Market Drayton in the Counties. Fay Jackson also bettered her 200 backstroke PB, again set last month at Market Drayton, by three and a half seconds with a time of 2:27.91. Fay also swam in the 800 frontcrawl and although her time of 9:55.06 was under the MDQT, she has swam faster this year. Sam Adamson gained a new MDQT for his 200 breaststroke in a time of 3:19.80, almost three seconds faster than his PB set in the Counties in February. Sam also competed in the 200 individual medley but has swam faster than 2:53.61 in this event this year. Well done to all three swimmers!

A list of Oakengates swims is shown below with finishing positions in the heat and (in brackets) within age group. The links will take you to the qualifiers page and to a list of full results for the events with Oakengates interest.
